Our desire is to make available any and all useful information about the Crowley Heritage Center Museum, where the history of Crowley County is on display. The story about the determined survival of a diverse mixture of people from several different cultures, who homesteaded on some of the best grassland in southeastern Colorado.

"They Came, They Saw, They Settled and the Prairie Blossomed"

In the early 1900s irrigation water was diverted out of the Arkansas river and bumper crops of alfalfa, sugar beets, cowboymural
vegetables and fruits of all kinds were grown in record amounts. The Crowley County area was described in brochures as the "Garden of Eden". Four Towns sprang up with schools, churches, homes and factories.

The amazing continued story of struggles, success and survival is fascinating. Please click on the links that take you to your special area of interest. It is going to take us some time to get everything on the web site. Please be patient with us and e-mail us suggestions of what you would like to see.

The different links will eventually introduce you to the Heritage Museum, Family Histories, The Heritage Center, Crowley County then and now. A loyal group of supporters and a schedule of current events to let you know what is going on.
